The Great Migration Safari at Mara River Crossing

Your safari begins with a pick-up from your lodge or hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic 1-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a thrilling game drive with a picnic lunch, exploring the park’s stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife.

Lake Manyara is famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, often spotted lounging in the branches, and the playful baboon troops that greet you as you enter the park. After a day of excitement, we’ll transfer you to your lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Central Serengeti National Park to start a day full of wildlife sightings. We’ll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park before continuing the afternoon game drive. This evening, we’ll head to our camp for a restful night, and tomorrow, we’ll spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti for more game drives. Serengeti National Park is renowned for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move in search of fresh grazing lands. The migration is driven by the rainy season, and you’ll have the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife in a short time. Expect to spot resident predators, such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, as they play their role in the circle of life.

Rise early and enjoy a hearty breakfast before we drive to Northern Serengeti, where the Great Migration unfolds around the Mara River. We’ll bring along a picnic lunch box to enjoy at the perfect vantage point, carefully selected by your expert safari guide for the best views of the migration. Here, you’ll witness the dramatic river crossings, where wildebeest bravely navigate the Mara River, often encountering crocodiles lurking in the waters. You may also spot the predators—lions, leopards, and cheetahs—waiting for the perfect moment to hunt. This is one of the most thrilling moments in the safari experience, offering unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Start the day early with a delicious breakfast before heading out for another exciting game drive in Northern Serengeti, continuing to focus on the incredible sights of the Great Migration. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch while taking in the stunning landscape and wildlife around us.  In the afternoon, we’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where we’ll stop for the evening and settle in for a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast, we’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting game drive, carrying a picnic lunch to enjoy while exploring the crater floor. You’ll have the chance to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery of this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its incredible wildlife and amazing photo opportunities. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, home to around 30,000 large mammals and a variety of bird species. It offers a rare opportunity to witness animals in their natural habitat, making it a highlight of the safari experience. After the game drive, we’ll transfer you to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable safari.
